We decided to drive to Marie se Gat before we left for Bitterpan. The gate to Bitterpan at Nossob only opens at 9h00. Surely there are lions out there! There was a stunning sunrise and it was rather cold.

Well there were plenty of animals at Marie se Gat….eland, gemsbok, ostrich , springbok, blue wildebeest and bat - eared foxes……but no CATS! This was getting beyond a joke.








Anyway a starling arrived and sat on my half wound down window. Either he was trying to remind me that we should love all creatures great and small or he was after my muesli. Well, he succeeded in cheering me up but he did not succeed in getting any muesli. He then tried SO’s mirror to see if he could bum a rusk. I could not believe that I was leaving Nossob without seeing a lion!

OH my goodness.....I almost forgot. I managed to get the following photo just before we got back to Nossob.



Hey BB do you think you could id this bird for me ?????( Ludwig'd Bustard) By the way I saw a flock of 20 of these birds take off.....it was quite an awesome sighting but sorry no video or photos
